The Nanaimo Museum‘s long time textile expert, Vivian Frow, will be conducting an Introduction to Textile Conservation Workshop at the museum on Saturday, October 3, 2009, from 1 to 4:30 pm. The workshop will cover the basics of textile conservation, from clothing such as wedding dresses and gowns to any kind of textile or sampler, and will teach participants everything from vacuuming, wet cleaning, and even couching repairs. The fee for this informative workshop is $95, which includes an acid free box and tissue paper for proper storage. Space for the Textile Conservation Workshop is limited so if you are interested you’re encouraged to book early. To register, call Bobbie Williamson at 250-753-1821. The museum is located in the Vancouver Island Conference Centre, 100 Museum Way, Nanaimo.

That’s a very good offer just less then $100 for the workshop. I think that there are many people who would like to learn the right and proper way.
