Nanaimo filmmaker Paul Manly is planning a cross-country tour in October to promote his new feature-length documentary You, Me and the SPP: Trading Democracy for Corporate Rule. Paul is looking for support in communities across Canada and if you know any university professors who might be willing to help organize university screenings or class presentations, he’d like to hear from you. Or if you can host an event in your community, please let him know at tel. 1-250-729-1254. The tour will begin with a screening on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on October 1, 2009, followed by a swing through Quebec, the Maritimes, Ontario, and the Prairie provinces. He’s available for November screenings in British Columbia. The tour is being co-sponsored by the Council of Canadians and the Canadian Center for Policy Alternatives. Manly made the film from donations and his own resources and he received no funding from traditional media sources. Considering that, the high quality of this 90-minute documentary is remarkable. It has been a labor of love for Paul, to help educate the many Canadians who know nothing about the sinister Security and Prosperity Partnership that far right think tanks and neo-con politicians are promoting. Be sure to watch the trailer above and then order the DVD through his website.
