Pacific Gardens Cohousing at 347 Seventh Avenue, Nanaimo, is nearing completion and the city should be giving occupancy permission to the owners very soon. Meanwhile, a show suite has been opened for public tours every Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 pm. Reservations for the tours are not required. It’s an opportunity to learn more about this bold experiment in collective living. What sets Pacific Gardens apart are the large common areas and spacious residences. The glass-covered atrium and other common spaces account for a quarter of the building’s footprint as compared to the six percent found in most condo developments. The units are large enough to accommodate extended families, home businesses, or roommates. And unlike many strata situations, Pacific Gardens residents are able to organize group meetings or clubs, to have pets, and to create organic gardens on the grounds. Some of the most environmentally-conscious people in Nanaimo will be moving in here and their interests will be reflected in the activities. If it’s time for you to drop out of the stale consumer existence which has trapped most North Americans, Pacific Gardens could be your escape. The weekend tours provide a good taste of this lifestyle.

We are currently no longer having regular Open Houses on the weekends. We are always happy to show prospective buyers around our beautiful building and grounds at a time of their choosing. All we ask is that they call us at 250 754-3060 to arrange a tour. You can find out more about us at www.pacificgardens.ca.
