The Vancouver Island Symphony will present the Old Wine in New Bottles Festival at the Port Theatre in Nanaimo on January 21 and 22, 2011. The two festival concerts highlight music that is well-aged and seasoned, taking from the past, releasing the mystery, and making it new and exciting for all. On Friday, January 21, it’s Festival Concert I at 7:30 pm with guest conductor Ivars Taurins. On Saturday, January 22, it will be Festival Concert II at 7:30 pm. The conductor will be Pierre Simard.
Opportunities to learn all about the music with pre- and post-concert talks will be available. Individual festival concert tickets are $46 adults, $44 seniors, or $18 students. For more information or tickets call 250-754-8550.
