The International Coach Federation is a professional organization of business and personal coaches formed in 1995. The ICF provides independent certification and networking for more than 17,000 members in over 100 countries with more than 140 chapters in over 50 countries committed to advancing the art, science, and practice of professional life coaching.
Life coaching is about partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. It’s a partnership between coach and client for the purpose of producing extraordinary and fulfilling results for the client. Through the process, clients deepen their learning, improve their performance, and enhance the quality of their lives.
International Coaching Week during the first full week in February is a weeklong global celebration of the coaching profession held annually. Each year at this time coaches and clients try to educate the general public on the value of working with a professional coach while acknowledging the results and progress made through the coaching process. During this extended commemoration, coaches around the world offer a variety of activities and pro-bono services in their local communities to share what coaching can do.
This year, the Mid-Island Coaching Network in Nanaimo has partnered with The Buzz Coffee House, 4515 Uplands Drive, to create awareness of the profession of coaching during the 2011 International Coaching Week. On Monday, February 7, from 10 am to noon, and on Wednesday, February 9, from 6 to 8 pm, the public is invited to come and meet some coaches, ask questions, and experience a complimentary 15-minute 1-on-1 coaching session. They ask, we have tutors, mentors, and coaches for everything else, why not for the most important thing you have – your life! For more information call Line Brunet at 250-756-0811.
