Paul Fudge will teach an art course titled Exploring Art on six Monday evenings, 6.30 to 8.30 pm, from April 4 to May 16, 2011, at the Nanaimo Art Gallery downtown location, 150 Commercial Street. You may have seen a painting or sculpture you thought you would like to own but weren’t quite sure why you liked it. You are not alone! This fascinating course is aimed at those who want to learn more about how to look at and appreciate art, and develop their knowledge about art and the art market. Each session will include an illustrated talk, using both projected images and original works of art, with opportunity for questions and general discussion. You will learn about the language of art, visual perception, art movements and styles, art in the marketplace, and the roles of public and commercial galleries. Tuition for gallery members is $108 plus HST, for non-members $123 plus HST. To register call 250-754-1750.
