The production and sale of heritage vegetable plants is an exciting new social enterprise venture for Nanaimo Community Gardens Society that will help more people grow food locally by providing access to and preserving the diversity of heritage food plants, educating people how to grow food and save seeds, and funding other Society programs that help people increase their self-reliance in food.
You can help them promote their sales by taking orders from your friends, family, neighbours, co-workers, church congregation etc. With your help, the Society will keep expanding our community’s capacity to grow our own organic, non-genetically modified foods. Call 250-816-4769 if you can help staff their plant sales and share your gardening knowledge with customers in May and June.
