Brian Scott is an expressionist oil painter whose trademark is bright colour. Typical subjects include west coast fishing boats and coastal architecture. Scott takes special care with the design and composition of his works. Aside from original oil paintings, he makes prints, greeting cards, books, and papier mache sculptures. Brian Scott was on the Faculty of North Island College for 20 years teaching drawing, colour theory, and design in the Fine Art Programme. He also taught for the Emily Carr College and Design Outreach Programme for 14 years. Since retiring from academia he has divided his time between Vancouver Island and Arizona. His original works are displayed in art galleries around the world.
In summer Brian Scott welcomes visitors to his gallery and studio at Black Creek, British Columbia, south of Campbell River.
