The Nanaimo Art Gallery, campus location, 900 Fifth Street, Building 330, will run a two-hour acrylic painting class for adults, beginner level, from 1:30 to 3:30 pm on Mondays June 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2009. These introductory classes on painting with acrylic paints on canvas will be taught by Lori Sorensen. Students will learn techniques for mixing paint, choosing a palette of colours, and creating compositions. Beginning with an exploration of materials and progressing to a finished painting on canvas, this class is designed to foster a love of painting with acrylics.
The class will involve practice with different tools used to apply paint, including a selection of brushes and palette knives. Fun exploring the many ways acrylic paint can be used will be a focus of this class. Some sketching and colour blending exercises will be part of the process, which is designed to spark creativity and to develop awareness. The price is $80 plus GST per person and a list of basic materials required will be sent upon registration. Call 250-740-6350 to register and pay by credit card.

Seems like a great art workshop to attend.. I have never worked with acrylics. I find oils much easier medium to work with. But i guess as an artist you have to learn different mediums..

I am so sorry that I missed this class. Could you please advise me if there is a follow up class. I know of a few people who would be interested. I would so much like to find an ongoing group to join, or classes for this fall. Please let me know if you know of any.
Thanking you in advance
